The University of Utah will host its 7th annual campus Farmers Market during the fall semester of 2014.
The market seeks to link local growers and artisans with a campus community that desires access to fresh, healthy, local produce and unique arts and crafts where they live, work, and study.
Come join us for another year enjoying a great selection of fresh fruits and vegetables, supporting our local economy, and helping make the market a campus tradition and delicious community event!
When: Thursdays, August 28 - October 9, 2014
Time: 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.
We encourage you to shuttle, take UTA, walk, or bike over to the market if at all possible. Valet bike parking as well as regular bike racks are available. The closest Blue, Red, and Green Shuttle stops are at the Park Building or Kennecott/Mines. Car parking is very limited! The nearest visitor lot, accessible from 100 S (North Campus Drive) and Wolcott Street, fills up early. You can also park in the visitor lot at the east end of the Union, accessed from Central Campus Drive, or use the Campus Store visitor lot, accessed from South Campus Drive. Please note that vendors and market managers do not validate parking.
Help the University of Utah cut down on waste. Please bring your own bags to the Farmers Market on Thursdays. Recycling and compost bins will be also available for visitors and vendors.
Applications will be accepted for 2014 by April 1st. If you are interested in being a vendor, you can learn more about the market, products that can be sold, and how to apply here - opens new window . All applications should be submitted via the Manage My Market portal - opens new window . Please be sure to read over all the policies, including specific ones for the University, before you apply.
The University of Utah's Farmers Market was originally founded by the Division of Human Resources' WellU health promotion program in partnership with the Sustainability Resource Center, the Bennion Center's SEED student group, and the Student Health Advisory Committee. Many other departments and individuals helped contribute to its success.
The University of Utah Farmers Market is currently sponsored by the following organizations: the Sustainability Resource Center, the A.Ray Olpin University Union, the Lowell Bennion Community Service Center, and University Dining Services.
Interested in becoming a sponsor? Contact the Office of Sustainability coordinator at 801-581-7505 if you need additional information.

Thank you for your interest in being a vendor at the University of Utah Farmers Market. The market is open to local farmers and growers, artisans, and on- and off-site prepared food vendors. Non-profit organizations that focus on health, food and agriculture, social services, and the environment may also apply, as well as specialty local retail vendors for specific theme days.
We give preference to vendors who grow or make everything they are selling, and for prepared food vendors who offer healthy items made from local and organic ingredients and who make an ongoing effort to reduce waste and environmental impacts.
Hosting a market on a university campus presents both unique opportunities and some challenges. The market season is a short 7 weeks, opening in late August on the first week of fall classes begin and closing at the university's fall break in October. Market customers are primarily university students, staff, and faculty, though local residents and neighbors are welcome and encouraged to attend.
The Market accepts applications through Manage My Market, an online software system designed specifically for farmers markets. Once you set up your vendor profile, you can easily apply to any market in the network, saving you time and effort. Manage My Market system access is free of charge to vendors. All fees for approved vendors are listed in the market information on the Manage My Market site. You may apply for all markets of the season, or select dates. Once you are in the system, you can also apply to other local markets that use the same system.
