Emerson Andrews
Sustainable Campus Initiative Fund ManagerEmerson works with students to help them access grant funding for sustainability-focused projects through the Sustainable Campus Initiative Fund. He also works closely with Facilities Management and other campus stakeholders to identify and initiate various projects related to applied sustainability learning.

Amy Brunvand
Associate LibrarianAmy is an academic librarian embedded in the Sustainability Office. Her primary areas of focus are data collection for the STARS report on campus sustainability, research consultation, data and assessment help for sustainability related topics, and collection and archiving to support sustainable activity and research on campus and use of the campus as a living laboratory.

Interim DirectorGinger leads department initiatives and strategy for the Sustainability Office, including efforts to implement the university's Climate Action Plan and incorporate sustainability into the academic curriculum.

Kara Freedman
Sustainability Engagement & Events CoordinatorKara collaborates with departments and student groups to coordinate co-curricular opportunities throughout the year. Her primary programs are the What Goes Around Comes Around Pop-Up Thrift Shop to promote a circular economy on campus, Earth Week events in April, and the Farmers Market, which brings local vendors to the U each fall.

Gardens Program CoordinatorGabrielle is an urban farmer who utilizes ecological methods to care for land, environment and people. They oversee the Edible Campus Gardens program, which engages the campus through garden-based education and urban food production to foster environmental stewardship, community resilience and belonging on campus.
Gabrielle is passionate about access to food and nature and is excited by the rich connection that is facilitated through food growing and traditions. When they aren’t covered in garden dirt, you can find them in the outdoors camping, hiking and paddle boarding, cooking, working on fiber arts or spending time with their spouse and pup.

Administrative AssistantJulie supports efforts to expand sustainability-related educational opportunities across campus, working on programs and resources to support and incentivize faculty to include sustainability topics in their courses. She also collects data for reporting on sustainability in academics for the University of Utah’s STARS submissions
