What Goes Around Comes Around

A FREE On-Campus Pop-Up Thrift Shop

When students move out of their residence halls at the end of the year, they donate gently used items like linens, bathroom and kitchen supplies, clothing and unopened food stuffs. We keep all these items out of landfill by donating food to the Feed U Pantry and redistributing everything else to students in a free pop-up thrift shop at the beginning of the next semester. The program, fondly known as “WGACA,” helps meet students’ basic needs, promotes a circular economy and moves toward a zero waste campus.

If you want to ensure access to these items for the fall semester, please contact the Basic Needs Collective.

Come Thrift with Us!

Did you know the Sustainability Office hosts the largest FREE thrift shop on campus? Well, you do now! Join us to contribute to the circular economy, keep textiles out of the landfill and find your new favorite clothing item!

Next Pop-Up Thrift Shop
When: Thursday, December 5, 2024 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Where: Marriot Library Learning Space (2nd floor)
This is a one-afternoon opportunity, don't miss it!

In December, we'll host a clothing & school supplies swap with ASUU as part of Marriott Library's Stress Busters Week. We are accepting gently used clothing (no stains or tears), shoes and winter gear, along with school supplies like empty notebooks, rulers, calculators, lab coats and more! You can bring your items to the event on December 5, or you can donate throughout November in the labeled bins in Kahlert Village, College of Engineering, Art & Architecture Building and the Sustainability Office in the Business Classroom Building. Thank you for reducing waste sent to landfills and for participating in our campus's circular economy!
